Gone are the days where companies just threw money at anything computer or I.T. related in hopes of being the next dot com company that made it big.

Today's economy is very different what it used to be 4 years ago. Today organizations are now seeking ways to improve efficiencies, cutting unnecessary costs with whatever resources currently at their disposal.

I.T. have not been spared as well. Today's organization mandate is to reuse whatever computing resources available and improve upon business processes. If new infrastructure is needed strong justification must be made to explain the need for extra spending.

It also facilitates as a justifications means to approve extra funding requests from management. It is an objective and independent diagnosis of the current health of the organization's I.T. infrastructure.
